Sessions will vary each week, with some focused on speed, agility, and quickness and others focused on technical skill development. Starting this fall, U.S. Soccer is changing age groups from the current January 1–December 31 birth year format to a school-year format: August 1–July 31. This change is designed to better align players with their school classmates, create a more social team experience, and help improve player retention. 2026 SLSG Spring Classic Recap ⚽️🌊 NWI Surf brought 4 teams to compete in the top flight: our 2018, 2017, 2016 Academy Boys, and 2016 Academy Girls. While the 2018 Boys and 2016 Girls didn’t see it reflected on the scoreboard, they showed serious grit and mental toughness against high-level competition, they found wins in moments that matter. Our 2016 and 2017 Boys put together standout performances, going undefeated in group play and earning their spot in the finals. They came up just short (3-1 and 3-2), but the level of play spoke for itself. As a club, we’re proud of the football we’re putting on the field, and we’ll continue to challenge our players against the best, every time. Congratulations to our 2017 team on their performances in the ICS Tournament yesterday! The team made it to the final but fell short in the end to a very talented Chicago Raiders team. Regardless of the result, this team showed incredible grit and mental toughness in each of their games in the “group of death” and the quality of soccer was high to compliment the effort.
